Nazrul Islam
has a true passion for education and literature and a natural inclination towards an an analytical philosophy. He was born on 2 Nov 1980, in Chandpur, to Begum Rokeya Akter and Ashek Ullah Prodhan.

His areas of study are diverse and include chemistry, English literature, pedagogy, educational administration and management, and research methodology. He has also studied botany, law, and Bangla literature for some time. Currently, he is working on his MPhil thesis on language education.

He taught for about twelve years at an educational institution and retired as vice principal. He is a versatile writer who is equally comfortable with fiction and non-fiction. He regularly contributes articles, stories, translations, and book reviews to national dailies.

A native of Scorpio, he is fondly known as Russell among his close acquaintances. He resides in Dhaka with his wife and two daughters.
